Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what information AlienTube (alientube.app) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. AlienTube is run by Carl Thomas in the United Kingdom.
What we collect
- Account details — if you sign up (email, Google or X): your email address, callsign, avatar, bio and any links you add.
- Things you post — comments, ratings, poll votes and video suggestions. Comments are public with your callsign.
- Your settings — watchlist, history, viewing progress and preferences, so they sync across devices.
- Anonymous usage statistics — view counts, and the country, approximate city and referring site (for example X or Google) of each visit. These are stored as totals and are not linked to you. We do not store IP addresses.
How we use it
Only to run and improve AlienTube: signing you in, showing your profile and comments, remembering your settings, sending notifications you've asked for, and understanding which films people enjoy. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, count guest Grok questions and avoid showing you dismissed promotions. These are essential to the site working.
Embedded videos from Rumble, YouTube and the Internet Archive may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Advertising
AlienTube is free and is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense, and by direct sponsors.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to AlienTube and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Where required (UK, EEA and Switzerland), you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.
Direct sponsor promotions are served from our own site and do not use tracking cookies; we only count views and clicks in total. Signed-in members can turn some promotions off in Settings. Links such as Buy Me a Coffee take you to other sites with their own policies.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law (GDPR) you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how it is used. California residents have similar rights under the CCPA, including the right to know and delete; we do not sell personal information. You can edit most details yourself in Settings. For anything else, email us and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Keeping and protecting data
We keep account data while your account is open and delete it when you ask. Data is stored with our hosting providers, who may process it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
Children
AlienTube is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
